Dr. Johannes Schweifer, co-founder of Bitcoin Suisse AG, the pioneer in the Crypto Valley of Zug, explained to us in detail what Bitcoin is and how it’s only one example of the power of the underlying blockchain technology. He showed us how this technology can be used to implement smart contracts or develop new currencies, democratically governed organizations, and basically anything one has the imagination and ability to put into code. The entire evening had great intellectual and philosophical appeal as Dr. Schweifer indulged our many questions ranging from technical and security aspects to the nature of currencies and from there to security, trust, banking, and democracy in general.
